The Platamonas beach 38 km from Katerini and essentially divided into two parts by Platamon castle. One part, the north, is the natural continuation of the beach of Agios Panteleimon and characterized by narrow strip of shingle in the shadow of the castle just. There is not much organization only some taverns at the beginning of the beach. Parking is difficult, except for a small vacant lot down the street. Feature of the beach are the remains of the old railway line which is now deserted, a few meters from the waves.
The south side of the beach Platamona is the most secular and the pebbles gives way to sand. Small beach piers slice into smaller, autonomous beaches to the harbor with the boats of fishermen. Set against the beautiful castle bathers cooled under the watchful eye of the lifeguard. There is a great organization along the beach bustling until late.
